Mount Wachusett Community College is a Community College committed to fostering civic learning and community engagement in its educational offerings. A faculty member’s workload shall consist of the following duties: instructional duties and non-instructional duties (i.e. office hours, college service, community service, and professional development).

Bachelor’s degree required; 3-5 years teaching experience preferred. Registration as a Nationally Registered EMT - Paramedic required; minimum of 3 years full-time equivalent experience in field of Emergency Medicine required: college teaching experience preferred ; understanding of civic engagement, cooperative education, and service learning preferred; evidence of a commitment to classroom teaching and learning, and the demonstrated abilities to use computer-aided instruction; advise students to meet their goals and ability to work effectively with a culturally and educationally diverse student population is essential.

A Faculty member shall be responsible for such community service and professional development activities as mutually agreed by the President of the College or the President’s designee and the faculty member. Consistent with the principles and standards of academic freedom and responsibilities, support the college’s mission to infuse service learning and civic engagement into the classroom as applicable. Teaches courses as assigned by the Division Dean;
Teach courses at Gardner and/or Devens campuses as assigned by the Division Dean; Design and teach courses in emergency medicine (paramedic and Basic EMT levels); serve as EMT /paramedic department chair effective Spring 2014; participate in student assistance/advisement; maintain office hours; participate in college service activities, (i.e., college committees, meetings, activities, etc.) participate in professional development activities
