This position is for a PRN clinical nursing instructor in the area of medical/surgical nursing at Bryan College of Health Sciences. When needed, this individual would be teaching clincal to a group of 6-7 students on a medical or surgical unit for 2 days per week throughout any given semester. This individual would also be responsible for making assignments the day prior to clinical and completing student evaluations after the clinical experience. A minimum of a masters degree in nursing or progress toward a masters degree in nursing is required; previous teaching experience preferred. Experience in advanced medical/surgical nursing such as critical care is desired, but not required.
The Instructor of the College of Health Sciences demonstrates implementation of the mission, vision, goals and values of the College as well as the philosophy of the division in which he/she is assigned.
The Instructor is responsible for development, planning, implementation and evaluation of the theoretical and clinical/lab components of assigned courses. The Instructor demonstrates the ability to teach in individual, small and large group settings and functions under the direction of a qualified master's prepared faculty member.
The Instructor participates in ongoing systematic evaluation activities as assigned; participates in activities for community betterment; and is a member of a professional organization.
Minimum Qualifications :
Nursing Program: BSN plus active progress on MSN and RN licensure as a registered
nurse in Nebraska or compact state or Bachelor's degree plus active progress in
RN to MSN program and licensure as a registered nurse in Nebraska or compact
state required. Minimum of three (3) years experience in field of practice required. Previous teaching experience preferred.
