Read and understand ladder and control logic, engineering prints, electrical and mechanical drawings and schematics.
Perform troubleshooting and corrective maintenance on instrumentation, controls, breakers, motors, drives (electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic), circuit boards, PLC’s, and other associated equipment typically found in a Power Plant.
Use multi-meters, oscilloscopes, deadweight testers, pneumatic calibrators, meggers, motor diagnostic equipment, and other associated instrumentation to perform diagnostics and troubleshooting of station equipment.
Perform preventative maintenanance
Installation, testing, calibration, maintenance and repair of instrumentation controls.
Ensure proper adjustment and calibration of all plant control, measurement and protective devices.
Maintain calibration records and maintenance history of all station instrumentation and controls.
Install electrical conduit, wiring, breakers, pneumatic air tubing, valve actuators and valve positioners.
Work with and support the electrical maintenance department.
Perform rigging needed to lift, move and position heavy equipment.
Communicate technical information in a clear and concise manner.
Operate manual, pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical tools.
Operate motorized equipment such as lift trucks, winch trucks and overhead cranes.
Assist with mechanical maintenance as required.
Acts as a team member with all employees of GDF SUEZ Energy staff.
Complies with all GDF SUEZ Energy policies and procedures.
Carries out other duties as assigned
Must be able to climb a vertical ladder to a 110 foot platform and perform maintenance work on the platform
Ability to work off of a ladder
A valid driver’s license is required
Ability to use personal computerWork emergency and planned overtime when the need arises.
Work shifts during unit outages
Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
A MA Electrical Journeyman’s License is required.
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with industrial or utility generating plant equipment such as pumps, control valves, instrumentation, controllers, and associated equipment.
General plant electrician experience including MCC’s, motor control circuitry, starters, fuses and heaters
