Instruments Finishing Cell Operator – General Operator
Reports To: Production Coordinator
Required skills unique to Instrument Finishing:
Motivated to learn – much of the process and product information is learned over time through repetition which will take time
Attention to detail as there is a great deal of craftsmanship required
Physical strength and stamina to stand the majority of the shift and hand grind/polish instruments
Able to make decisions independently - most of the quality criteria is visual or functional comparison decisions must be made continuously
Work with coordinator and planner to insure customer requirements are being met and stocking levels maintained
Maintain the appropriate quality level through the use of inspection tools and processes provided
Complete 6S duties as described in the standard work
Train other operators once the processes have been established
All other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience:
High school diploma or GED
Basic computer skills, familiarity with basic spreadsheet software, email and word-processing
2 years of experience in direct manufacturing
Ability to work alone, yet also be part of a team oriented production model.
Must have good critical process thinking skills.
Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail.
