Accounting Specialist -Baton Rouge 45k-65k
Our client is an independent insurance agency located in Baton Rouge, LA. The position is titled as accounting specialist. This role performs a variety of bookkeeping functions and will tie into the agency’s work with property and casualty insurance coverage.
Accounting Specialist Responsibilities
Reconcile and maintain accounts payables; responsible for cash disbursements to vendors.
Reconcile daily cash balancing including company EFT’s, bank statements and petty cash.
Reconcile aged accounts receivables statements distributing these to the service managers who will pursue collections with insureds; also adjust errors in journal entries for clients.
Assist with year-end processes, surplus lines records and monthly and quarterly reports (including producer commission statements)
Accounting Specialist Requirements
At least two (2) years of accounting experience with knowledge of basic accounting principles and accounting reporting systems.
Preference given to candidates with insurance experience.
Excellent computer skills in database management and record keeping.

Base Salary Range : Experience will determine compensation package, but will pay top of the scale for the right candidate. 40k-65k based experience plus benefits & 401K
