The Insurance Department procures and manages Marriott's insurance programs to protect the corporation and its customers against various property, liability, employee and financial risks.

The Insurance team is responsible for the designing and marketing programs and negotiating insurance pricing and terms. They review most legal agreements to limit the corporation’s exposure to loss and assure regulatory and contractual compliance. Insurance provided by franchisees is also monitored to ensure coverages are adequate in order to protect Marriott from uninsured risks.

The insurance team maintains broker and insurer relations and acts as a resource to Marriott Businesses and staff departments on insurance matters, including corporate casualty claims for coverage interpretation issues.

Specific Job Summary

This position administers critical elements of Marriott brands, The Ritz-Carlton, Edition, and Residential risk management and insurance programs, including contract review and renewal submission for the primary casualty program in the Americas (North and South America) and the global excess casualty program. Coordinate, develop, and manage day-to-day issues regarding insurance web page content and design.

Act as the key resource for high hazard activities for all brands and all product types.

The position requires a detail-oriented person with excellent written, analytical, and verbal communication skills, as well as a demonstrated commitment to the risk management discipline.

The Senior Insurance Analyst reports to the Senior Director, Domestic Insurance.

Expected Contributions

Specific Expected Contributions

1.

Provide insurance management to

hotels and ancillary businesses in the Americas (domestic and international responsibilities) including supporting the Law Dept by analyzing and negotiating contractual insurance and indemnity provisions

2.

Manage analysis and review of high risk Business Case Analyses (BCA) in partnership with Global Safety & Security

3.

Manage Project Vault (Comprehensive RM Database System), MGS Insurance Page and TeamShare

4.

Assist Senior Director with Wrap-Up Insurance Placements and/or major construction projects

Candidate Profile

·

Bachelor’s degree in related field

·

At least 4 years of

relevant insurance/risk management or insurance brokerage experience (or course work)

·

Prior ARM and/or CPCU coursework encouraged

·

Experience with foreign operations or multi-lingual skills a plus

·

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

·

Excellent writing skills

·

Strong interpersonal skills to influence and communicate effectively with insurance and non-insurance professionals

·

Demonstrated proficiency of Excel, MS Word, Outlook, Access, and PowerPoint

·

Ability to work independently

·

Experience with Intranet information management a plus
