Summary:

The Integration Analyst/EDI Coordinator is responsible for assisting with coordinating and planning of application interface development within the enterprise. This includes gathering vendor requirements, assist with project and resource planning, coordinate and assist with interface testing, and assist with interface problem resolution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes the following as appropriate):

1. Work with manager, Integration Engineers, and application vendors to develop interface specifications and assists in interface design and implementation.

1.1 Assists in the analyses, design, testing and implementation of interfaces.

1.2 Confers with customers and Integration/EDI Team to gain an understanding of needed interface, changes, or requests requirements.

1.3 Participates in the development of interface specifications in conjunction with staff and vendors.

1.4 Work with Application Analysts and Integration Engineers to translate interface requirements into technical HL7 specifications.

1.5 Analyze, review, and alter interface tables or profile variables to adapt to new interface requirements.

1.6 Assist in coordinating all phases of integration projects.

1.7 Assist manager in the overall project and resource planning for the Integration/EDI Team.

1.8 Interface maintenance including the monitoring and error correction of interface work queues.

1.9 Develop an understanding of application workflows to assist the Integration/EDI Team with all aspects of interface testing.

2. Provides assistance in problem identification and resolution of daily production problems.

2.1 Analyzes problems, takes appropriate correction action, and follows up on problems to ensure that it has been resolved.

2.2 Analyzes, reviews, and altars interface messages to assist in problem resolution.

2.3 Provides documentation (HEAT) to his/her manager on production problems and the corrective action taken.

2.4 Replaces, deletes, or modifies interface messages to correct errors.

2.5 Notifies appropriate contact person(s) concerning interface related issues.

3. Investigates vendor application packages and participates in system selection.

3.1 Utilizes various industry resources (journals, internet, conferences, users groups, etc.) to stay current on vendor offerings and features/functions that might meet the needs of the customers/organizations.

3.2 Assists customers with identifying interface/technical requirements of the RFP/RFI.

3.3 Assists in the development of the RFP/RFI.

3.4 Assists in the evaluation of vendor RFP/RFI responses.

3.5 Attends and evaluates vendor demonstrations.

3.6 Participates in reference calls and the evaluation of the information provided.

3.7 Participates in site visits as appropriate.

4. Participates in projects/requests assigned by management:

4.1 Completes assigned tasks within agreed upon time frames.

4.2 Identifies any issues, barriers, or risks and brings them to management’s attention.

4.3 Participates in project team meetings.

4.4 Provides appropriate status to management when requested

5. Manages projects assigned by manager based on written standards and procedures.

5.1 Functions as the project manager/leader when assigned by management. Duties include project time management, task and personnel coordination and scope management. Follows hospital’s project management methodology.

5.2 Tracks issues/barriers to the project and ensures resolution in a timely manner.

5.3 Coordinates and facilitates project meetings.

5.4 Responsible for project documentation (i.e. agendas, minutes, etc.)

5.5 Reviews assigned tasks daily, updates project management database and informs management of any identified issues or barriers.

5.6 Manages expectations and engages management to review/resolve any potential changes to project scope, expected deliverables, etc.

5.7 Participates in post implementation review of projects.

6. Monitors current application performance and makes recommendations to manager.

6.1 Reviews daily performance issues and advises appropriate person(s).

6.2 Advises the manager of all performance problems and makes recommendations for corrective actions.

7. Business recovery

7.1 Participates in the preparation and testing of the organization’s Disaster and Recovery Plan for their systems.

8. Completes all assignments as scheduled or as meets expectations.

9. Follows all department policies and procedures.

10. Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
Minimum Qualification:

Education and Experience:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field or equivalent application development experience required.

2. Minimum 2 years experience working with systems applications including design, testing and troubleshooting problems.

3. Two years Epic Application experience preferred.

4. Knowledge of HL7 Message Structures, HL7 Events, and other healthcare interfacing standards preferred.

5. Experience leading or managing projects preferred.

**Above qualifications may be waived in lieu of significant, relevant, experience.
