We are seeking a highly motivated and effective Sales Representative to join and contribute to a high performing team.
This role largely revolves around working closely with the CH Robinson network of offices to identify, prospect, sell and close business of varying sizes at multiple buying levels. This position is also responsible for executing sales strategies, sales presentations, and solution design to their assigned territory. A successful candidate: 1.) creates and develops quality relationships with their branch contacts; 2.) understands our competition and their market value; 3.) knows our competitive advantages and how to convey that to customers; and finally 4.) can creatively identify solutions that enable a positive customer buying experience.
As a member of the Intermodal sales team, you will be responsible to sell CHRs Intermodal services to the marketplace and contribute to the long-term success and sustainability of the division. In this role, you will be working with CHR offices and customers across the country with limited geographic boundaries. Growth strategy is founded through identifying, gaining entrance to, and selling new / current CHR accounts that have varying levels of intermodal volume and spend. Compensation is chiefly driven by individual performance after a successful transition period of role and responsibilities are achieved.
Primary responsibility is generating new CHR Intermodal net revenue; both internal sales to the offices within our network and as a resource on external sales opportunities.
Accountable for developing and executing strategies that grow CHR Intermodal market share and awareness
Most of time is spent on prospecting, cold calling, qualifying, holding conference calls and closing deals within a defined region
Collaborates with sales team on pricing strategies that align with divisional and corporate goals
Interacts with multiple levels of decision makers and buying influences (typically Management level)
Integrates and transitions account operations after sale is complete; stays engaged to maintain the relationship and ensure on-going success with the account
Conducts conference calls independently and face-to-face visits with their partnered Senior Sales Rep
Ownership and management of all relevant pipeline information in Intermodals sales database
Develop and maintain strong intra-company network relationships
Meet monthly sales and business expense goals as applicable
Provides the CHR network with coaching opportunities and advice on entrance strategies for new customer opportunities
Creates and manages a personal development plan to foster promotion opportunities
Drive transactional / immediate impact sales and project freight opportunities from the CHR network of offices
Assist in the solution design by drafting compelling value propositions based on a prospects needs, goals and objectives
1 to 2+ years of successful consultative sales experience with a proven track record
Strong strategic orientation, relationship building, negotiation skills and business acumen
Proven record of working with previous intra-company departments to achieve team results
Excellent communication and presentation skills (written and oral including MS Office Suite)
Strong work ethic, self-motivated and enthusiastic
Minimal travel expectations (< 10%)
Logistical background of various service offerings, the competitive landscape, and industry
Ability to work independently but as part of a team to reach a common goal
Understand the consultative sales process
Would require relocation to the Chicago metropolitan; relocation expenses can be discussed as necessary
