The Marketing & Communications Intern provides support to the Resoruce Development and Marketing department in the research, writing, design and delivery of internal and external communications using a variety of media.
Assist in the development, research, writing and production of a variety of publications, including electronic newsletters, donor and prospect mailings and the design and printing of collateral materials Assist with regular updating of the organizational website Provide editorial and basic design assistance in th development of printed and electronic collateral materials Assist Donor Relations Coordinator in data entry and mailing list management Participate on planning committees for special events including the Young Atlantans Revel for a Cause and the annual Dining for a Difference fundraisers Participate in the development and execution of a comprehensive social media plan Create powerpoint presentations as necessary
Degree track in marketing, communications, journalism or public relations preferred Interest in nonprofit work dealing with issues related to poverty, child welfare and/or homelessness Highly organized and detail orientation Excellent oral and written communications skills Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Graphic design experience a plus Savvy and knowledgeable about the web, social networking and online publishing Strong sense of initiative with the ability to interact well with a diverse range of internal and external constituents Enthusiasm, sense of humor and positive attitude
