This is a full-time research internship position offered by the High-Performance Computing and Algorithms (HPCA) group in the Wafer Inspection Division of KLA-Tencor Corporation. The group is responsible for developing HPC platforms and advanced image formation and processing solutions that support multiple wafer inspection product lines within KLA-Tencor's product portfolio.
This research intern will closely work with senior research scientists in the team in the following areas:
1) Analyzing the signal and noise characteristics of current and emerging IC yield limiting defects.
2) Formulating optical and/or algorithmic solutions that enable reliable detection of these defects.
3) Validating the solution via simulation and prototyping.
4) Documenting the investigation methodology and result, presenting the investigation report to the team.
The ideal candidate will be a student working towards his/her Ph.D degree. The candidate should have completed the PhD preliminary examination and should already be in the thesis research phase. The candidate should have strong background in Computer vision, pattern recognition and Image Processing. The candidate should have extensive experience with MATLAB and should be able to develop algorithm prototypes in MATLAB with ease. The candidate should have good communication skills and the ability to write technical reports and present them to a wide audience.
