POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Construction Internship is an eight-week program designed to give participants broad exposure to key areas within the retail real estate industry. The Internship will be based in the Company’s Mid-Atlantic regional office in Washington DC. Interns work closely with senior staff (Senior Managers and Vice Presidents) over the course of the program. The focus will be on the company’s mixed-use, urban assets.

During the eight-week program Interns will be exposed to:
 Entitlement and zoning process
 Management of site planning and architectural design
 Site and building permit process
 Budgeting
 Construction administration
 Property level sustainability initiatives

 Completion of the first year of an master’s level architecture, landscape architecture, or urban planning / design curriculum
 Interest in the retail real estate industry
 Strong work ethic; self-motivated; capable of effective independent judgment
 Attention to detail; organized; able to manage multiple priorities
 Excellent communication skills
