Pac-12 Enterprises is the new media and content company for the Pac-12 Conference, a leader in collegiate athletics that is comprised of 12 of the most prestigious universities in the world.
Headquartered in the technology and entertainment rich SOMA district of San Francisco, Pac-12 Enterprises includes the Pac-12 Television Networks and Pac-12 Digital Network. The Digital Network includes our website, Pac-12.com, our TV Everywhere online product, Pac-12 Now, and apps on the iPhone, iPad, and Android platforms, as well as our social media accounts.
Our Junior Digital Designers play an integral role in the success of Pac-12 Enterprises. As a Junior Digital Designer on the Digital team, you will gain experience and mentoring while working on leading sports technology products.
Pac-12 Digital is currently seeking a Junior Digital Designer to create and drive the development of our social media visual templates and promotional campaigns. In this capacity you’ll work with a Design Manager who has 15+ years experience in online product design and you’ll work alongside experts in editorial, engineering, product development, and video production. We’re a fun and creative group who really enjoys working together as well.
Day-to-day specifics: Roughly 40% of time will be spent doing graphics production, 30% in template creation, and the rest in exploring and visualizing product ideas. A strong self-starter mentality and ability to work with regular but not daily direction is ideal. Junior Digital Designers will be paid at San Francisco’s minimum wage, currently $10.55 per hour. Most work will be done on-site at the SOMA office. We can be flexible about which days the intern comes in and whether it’s during the morning or afternoon.
The duration of the summer position will be from June to August/September (30-40 hours per week).
Enrolled or recently graduated from a bachelor’s or master’s degree program in design (visual design, multimedia, UX, CHI, etc) or related work experience.
Strong analytical skills, organizational and time management skills, attention to detail.
Understanding of how social products (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest) are used by individuals and media brands is required.
Create topical and sport-specific Facebook cover images for the Pac-12 Facebook account and versions for Twitter and Instagram.
Make cover image templates for promoting upcoming games/events in a variety of sports such as tennis, baseball, track & field, and rowing. The editorial team will use the templates to create new cover images every couple of days.
Create visual assets for Pinterest contests and other fan-facing campaigns.
Source and optimize images for our Pac-12 Championship Event sites (similar to: Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Tournament site or Pac-12 Wrestling Championships)
Participate in conceptual design for the redesign of Pac-12.com.
Contribute to brainstorming on new products and features.
