This is an internship for Summer 2013.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under general supervision, oversees the installation and client acceptance of capitalized equipment, enterprise software system, system integration project or engagement. Provides on-site day-to-day activities between client and company personnel. Ensures customer satisfaction of information technology solutions by managing the details of overall project schedules and deliverables. Typically uses more project management skills than technical skills. Services may be provided on a fee-for-service basis or be included as part of the purchase price for company products. Usually involves extensive interaction with sales, systems engineering, product development and other members of cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products to clients. Plans and manages schedules and budgets. Monitors the project from initiation through delivery. Organizes the interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget constraints.
This is an internship opportunity in which individuals will be working in a training capacity with direct supervision over their work. Internship opportunities prepare and train current students to perform the types of responsibilities they can expect to perform upon entering the workforce after graduation, although the company does not guarantee an offer of full-time, regular employment after the completion of the internship.
EDUCATION: Pursuing bachelor's degree or equivalent.
Eligibility is restricted to individuals with an expected graduation date of Spring 2013 through Spring 2014.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 3 years related experience. Possess and applies a knowledge of project management principals, practices and procedures. Analytical skills and a solid facilitator. Proficient with Microsoft office suite or equivalent. Proficient with a project scheduling software tool-MS Project preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Product Life Cycle: Working knowledge of phases of the product life cycle, including engineering specifications, customer requirements gathering, software design and development, testing - including unit, functional, systems and integration implementation/delivery and maintenance. Systems Integration: Knowledge of how different systems interact, including potential problems and difficulties that may occur. Technical Knowledge : Maintains technical knowledge in assigned areas.
