This is a Summer Intership in our Distribution & Logistics Center.
There will be travel involved with this internship.
Responsible for overseeing the daily tasks associated with central dispatch of specific vehicle assets through the dispatch.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
Works directly with manager to locate subcontracted transportation after exhausting all internal transportation resources.
Maintains communication with facility personnel, local transportation coordinators and national transportation coordinators
Ensures transportation efficiency and that all loads are shipped according to compliance regulations and within time frame.
Documents customer and/or company interactions and issues relating to area of responsibility.
Nature and Scope
Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.
Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior co worker or supervisor.
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience
Typically requires BS/BA in related discipline. Generally 2-5 years of experience in related field; certification is required in some areas OR MS/MA and generally 2-4 years of experience in related field. Certification is required in some areas.
Experience in logistic processes of warehouse operations and distribution programs.
Minimum of 2 years experience in a Technical Analyst role utilizing applicable technologies (i.e., SQL, Oracle or similar ERP, Warehouse Management Applications, Cognos or other report writer tools, and Unibar or other label development software).
Purchasing/inventory management experience.
Experience in acquiring data within large multi-system enterprise environments.
Working knowledge of data rationalization and data definitions.
Either earning degree or recent graduate preferred.
