The intern would be expected to work on business critical data gathering and analysis of several high profile initiatives (specific projects TBD). They would be responsible for the developing an understanding of our current processes, data gathering, organization, and trend analysis to identify gaps and make recommendations for improvements to current procedures. These efforts are expected to benefit various T. Rowe Price units. The intern will be expected to handle time consuming data gathering and review as well as provide an external, unbiased perspective on the issue by objectively analyzing the results before recommending changes to the current process. From our business perspective, it will give the intern a broader perspective into the importance of communication and collaboration in a multi-faceted work environment. It will give our current associates a fresh perspective on existing processes.
Evaluate current processes and procedures including documentation of those processes and procedures as defined by the business
Define ways to measure the effectiveness of these processes and procedures
Analyze data to identify areas of opportunity and efficiency
Prescribe a plan for implementation of changes and ways to monitor performance
Present findings to managers during each step of the process
Manage other ad-hoc projects/tasks with primary focus on data review, analysis, and presentation of results
Assist with coordination of various department and site events such as Department Quarterly Business Update Meetings, site employee morale functions, or site Community Outreach events
Strong analytical ability
Good communication skills
Familiarity with Six Sigma concepts a plus, but not required
Willingness to learn and implement new concepts and ideas
Ability to present in front of varied audiences
Must be currently working towards a college degree; Completed sophomore or junior year
Interest in Financial Services industry
Previous Customer Service work experience
Working (intermediate) knowledge of Excel - ability to create a worksheet that can be used to capture a variety of data and be sorted for multiple trend analysis.
Basic knowledge of other MS Office applications - PowerPoint and Word
Solid communications skills - comfortable interacting and engaging with groups of varying sizes or one on one
Presentations skills - comfortable speaking in front of a group, professional and composed
Comfortable facilitating data gathering efforts - i.e. conducting focus groups, one on one interviews etc.
Comfortable performing meaningful data analysis to test hypotheses and validate assumptions to arrive at meaningful conclusions
Willingness to make recommendations based on analysis
Strong planning and organization skills
Ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities
