We are searching for an undergraduate Tax students interested in a Corporate Tax Internship at The Home Depot. Our Program is scheduled for 12 weeks during the summer of 2013.
This individual will work closely with the teams responsible for Federal, State, and International income tax to compile the information necessary to prepare the Tax Returns as well as various other tax-related filings. Interns will have project based work and will be assigned a Summer Mentor (Manager or Director) and Executive Coach (Director or Vice President).
All positions are located at The Home Depot Corporate Store Support Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Positions will be paid for approximately 40 hours/week. Transportation and housing is not provided.
The position would provide exposure to a wide array of types of tax including Federal Tax, Sales & Use Tax, Property Tax, International Tax, and State Audits. Duties would include weekly research of tax news and legislative updates, providing summaries of these updates to the team, assistance with binder preparation for the Quarterly Provision, aiding in preparing documents for State Audits, shadowing at meetings, updating appraisal values and locating unpaid property tax bills, helping in forming amended returns, as well as various other duties across the tax department. This position entails working closely with tax professionals and learning about the Tax Return process.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must pass Background Check.
Must pass pre-employment tests if applicable
EDUCATION REQUIRED -
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -
1 to 2 years of Public Accounting Tax and/or Corporate Tax experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND COMPETENCIES -
Ability to communicate issues and recommend solutions in a timely manner.
