We currently have an opening for a Stress Analysis Internship in the Gas Compressor Engineering department at our Kearny Mesa facility in San Diego .
Solar Turbines is a world leader in supplying centrifugal gas compressors to the Oil & Gas Industries. Our products are used extensively in the production and transmission of natural gas throughout the world. Gas Compressor Engineering Internship positions are designed to provide students with challenging, real world engineering projects in a centrifugal gas compressor engineering, manufacturing and test facility.
This internship position will support the Stress Analysis Group within the Gas Compressor Engineering Department. The intern will work with Structural Engineers on the design and analysis of Gas Compressors and related hardware. The position is primarily intended to be full time lasting thru the summer months. Other schedules will be considered on a case by case basis. Local candidates preferred.
Currently in the process of obtaining a minimum of a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical, Aerospace, Civil (Structural), Agricultural or Petroleum Engineering or other relevant Engineering degree.
Must have a minimum overall GPA of a 2.8 on a 4.0 scale.
Classified as a Junior, Senior, or currently attending graduate school by summer of 2013.
Completed or in the process of completing required courses:
Strength of Materials
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) including experience with formulas and graphing.
