Role and Scope of Position:

Intern will assist in managing and recruiting for the Electric Power Utility Technology (EPUT) program. The EPUT program is a two-year Associates degree program that is offered in partnership with Local 369 Utility Workers Union of America and Bunker Hill Community College. The program includes two years of academic, technical on on-site training and at least 16 weeks of paid cooperative work experience over the two years and potential future employment opportunities as a utility worker for successful graduates who meet all the program requirements. The intern will be responsible for the planning and scheduling of all aspects of the recruitment cycle. Intern will give presentations to area high schools, civic groups and career centers as well as attending career fairs to promote the program and the company.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Planning of all recruiting events including presentations and job fairs
  • Facilitating presentations at area schools, civic groups, job fairs and events
  • Conducting pre-employment background investigations
  • Scheduling interviews and employment testing
  • Be the main contact person for any inquiries for the EPUT program
Intern will also assist the Staffing Department with daily recruiting workload including:
  • Scheduling interviews
  • Conducting phone interviews
  • Screening resumes
  • Attending job fairs
  • Posting job vacancies
  • Conducting pre-employment investigations
  • Assisting with New Hire Orientation
  • Various Human Resources projects within the department
Qualifications:
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Good research and analytical skills and a logical approach to problem solving
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • PeopleSoft experience a plus

8AM - 4:30PM (40 hours p/week)
