We are currently looking to fill a paid intern position supporting our Strategy team. Strategy is central to the work of CableLabs. In advising CableLabs engineers and Cable operators on technology, business, and public policy trends, Strategy helps the industry remain the provider of choice for broadband, voice, video, and related communications services. The Strategy team applies quantitative and qualitative analysis to key issues, produces written reports for the Cable industry, and presents results to top Cable executives.
The Strategy Intern will assist the Strategy team in analyzing issues of competitive importance to the Cable industry. Projects generally examine how technology development impacts Cable services and its competition, and how government policy affects the competitive and technology landscape. Potential projects include:
- Survey of future optical access technologies, assessing the current state of the art, evaluating potential impact on the competitive environment, and identifying key indicators of progress toward commercial viability.
The ideal candidate will be a graduate student in the field of business or electrical / computer / communications engineering.
Must have knowledge of communications technology, particularly broadband and data networking services.
Familiarity with the competitive environment for broadband services.
Experience, knowledge, or exposure to Cable technology, specific broadband access technologies (e.g., wireless, passive optical networks, DSL), and corporate strategy are a plus.

Qualified students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better and be a
demonstrated self-starter with strong work ethic and willing to work up to 40
