Responsibilities:

Inventory Control (Off-site & On-site)
  • Participates in the planning, scheduling and monitoring of the movement of raw material
  • Coordinates material deliveries with off-site warehouses
  • Participates in determining material requirements
  • Issues inventories to the appropriate departments
  • Reconciles physical inventories at off-site warehouses
  • Monitor inventory for any slow moving/obsolete materials
  • Maintain material transaction records in support of audits, such as receipts, transfers, issues, returns, shipments and adjustments
  • Coordinates activities through off-site warehouses relating to physical and month end counts to verify inventory integrity
  • Resolve Quality Control issues on incoming stock at off-site warehouses and coordinates freight claims
  • Prepare various reports on operations and activities
  • Participate in the development of specifications for services, products, supplies or substitute materials
  • Negotiating and supervising supply contracts and formulating policies with suppliers
  • Conducts meetings, prepares and presents reports, establish performance objectives, and report performance against plan and business objectives
  • Participates in the disposition/processing of claims with mills/coil coaters
  • Arranges for the selling on secondary material at off-site locations
  • Participates in monthly scrap reconciliation

Inventory System
  • Maintain accurate perpetual inventory and associated records
  • Responsible for all systems that adjust the inventory levels and ensure that the automation accurately transacts inventory movement
  • Explores and develops options for further automation of inventory movement and makes recommendations for enhancements
  • Coordinate problem diagnosis/resolution for all system errors with programmers
  • Provides semi-complex clerical support in data entry, filing and coordinating paper flow
  • Assisting in the development of training materials
  • Leads technical support in selected project activities

Qualifications:
  • 5 to 10 years of inventory control experience required
  • Bachelors degree in Business preferred
  • Background and knowledge of warehouse and receiving functions
  • Ability to interpret, explain and enforce the adherence of all policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of procedures, methods and techniques of inventory control
  • Knowledge of automated inventory control systems
  • Ability to maintain an effective and accurate computerized inventory system
  • Ability to communicate clearly
  • Ability to manage multiple functions at one time
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Excel, Access and PowerPoint
