Cedars-Sinai Samuel Oschin Comprehensive Cancer Institute is home to a full range of specialty centers that diagnose and treat most forms of cancer. The institute provides more cancer care than any other medical center in the City of Los Angeles and performs more cancer surgeries than any other hospital in Los Angeles County.
Our oncology program has recently experienced significant growth in the areas of bone marrow transplant, outpatient oncology practice, including the recent acquisition of a large medical group, and research.
Summary of Essential Job Duties:
The Investigational Drug Technician, will assist in the procurement, auditing, coordination, delivery, and maintenance of investigational drug studies. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to receipt of inventory and inventory control activities, billing and tracking of IDS fees, performing quality assurance on pharmacy study compliance, discrepancy resolution, preparation of hazardous and biohazardous agents for patient administration, extemporaneous compounding of dosage forms, maintaining protocol documentation as required by Federal, State, Institutional and other regulating bodes, communicating with study sponsors for coordinating site initiation visits, study start up visits, and study close-outs.
Note: New Hires must successfully pass a background check, a prohibited substance screening and a pre-employment physical.
Education Certifications/Licensure Experience Physical Abilities
Two years of college preferred, with a background of course focus in mathematics or chemistry preferred.
Current State of California issued Pharmacy Technician License.
Must possess excellent customer service skills. Must have command of reading and writing in the English language.
Major focus on Investigational drug studies and cancer research.
Must be able to lift weight of up to 35 pounds.
