The Java / J2EE Senior Software Engineer is a highly visible leadership position and will lead a world class software team to design and develop Solutions for our new RailEdge products. RailEdge Planning Solutions will automate the Railroad Planning System with an innovative design to improve the railroad network capacity and efficiency. This Enterprise software is developed in Java EE on JBOSS SOA-P technology stack. In this role, you will:
Essential Responsibilities
Design and develop enterprise class software in all phases of the SDLC with robust design, high quality, and strong mentorship
Translate customer or systems requirements into robust software design with a test driven approach
Drive software quality by performing thorough requirements analysis, design and code reviews, unit tests and utilizing static code, dynamic code, complexity and code coverage analysis tools as part of development
Fulfill the role of the Scrum Master leading multiple teams through AGILE / SCRUM process
Lead efforts in establishing robust AGILE / SCRUM methodologies and sustain it through coaching and facilitation of scrum teams
Teach stakeholders and product owner on how to maximize ROI and meet objectives through SCRUM
Leverage legacy core design and introduce service oriented architecture to produce a highly customizable architecture to suit customer needs
Efficiently manage project and personal schedule by consistently meeting all deadlines
Exhibit continuous drive for improving quality and productivity by introducing and enforcing appropriate tools and processes
Interact and influence cross-functionally with Systems, and Test Engineers to understand requirements and generate test procedures
Interact with global teams by mentoring, and attending technical reviews
Successfully communicate project plans, tracking details, status updates and risk mitigation plans to the cross-functional team
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
Minimum of 10 years of experience in software design and development efforts

Desired Characteristics
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline
Strong knowledge of Java EE version 5 or above
Experience with Enterprise Service Bus, JBOSS SOA-P
Strong knowledge of JPA / Hibernate standards
Strong knowledge of Web Services and XML technologies (SOAP, WSDL, XML)
Strong experience in AGILE / SCRUM development process and leading agile teams
Experience and understanding of Service Oriented Architectures and Design
Experience with creative UX UI design concepts and standards
Hands-on experience with XML/XSL and building Web Services (SOAP, WSDL)
Experience with Unix or Linux
Experience with ClearCase SCM and ClearQuest Defect Tracking
Experience with System Testing Processes, Tools & Automation
Ability to creatively solve complex problems with simple solution
