Mission Vista Dual Magnet HS is a public school of choice in the Vista Unified School District. The school is home to a state of the art theater, well equipped laboratories for science classes, and modern equipment and technology in all classrooms. Our school operates on a 4x4 block schedule with an Advisory period meeting four times each week. The school's bell schedule fosters and promotes a climate where rich, personal connections can flourish. We our seeking an Assistant Principal who will help support the continued success of our young campus and will bring new, positive ideas to the school. The ideal candidate will have most of the following qualities: Excellent oral and written communication skills. Experience in positions of campus leadership. Experience teaching, particularly at the high school level. An understanding of educational technology and its connection to student learning. An understanding of school wide disciplinary policies and practices and their role in creating a positive campus climate. A positive, supportive attitude towards faculty, staff and students. Experience with or knowledge of the master scheduling process. Experience with or knowledge of effective special education programs. Experience with or knowledge of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs).
