The job developer initiates job development strategies to assist program participants in achieving their vocational goals; networks with non-profits that provide employment opportunities; develops job opportunities in the private sector; and maintains relationships with employers.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree and two years experience developing employment opportunities with the New York City business community, strong communication and presentation skills, and computer literacy.
Establish relationships with private-sector and non-profit employers.
Develop marketing materials for programs.
Make presentations to potential employers.
Develop job-search database using traditional and non-traditional employment sources.
Prepare participants for employment through job-readiness workshops and sessions in resume-writing and interviewing skills.
Maintain client records.
Develop internships and job-training opportunities.
Work with employers and program participants to ensure successful placements.
EFFECT ON END RESULTS
Program participants receive appropriate, high-quality services to assist them in achieving their vocational goals.
Program is appropriately and successfully marketed.
Network of employment sources is established and maintained.
Program resource lists are comprehensive, up to date, and helpful to program participants.
Program participants are well-prepared for employment and receive adequate post-placement support.
Client case records are accurate and thorough.
Program participants receive access to appropriate internship and job-training opportunities.
