In this entry-level position, junior editors write and edit math practice test questions and instructional lessons for students of all ages. Junior editors create educational materials aligned to state or national standards. Duties and Responsibilities Research and understand the curriculum standards for each state or national program Write strong, thoughtful standards-based multiple-choice questions Write clear, helpful lessons for a variety of subject-specific skills Review questions and lessons for alignment, grammar, spelling, clarity, and grade-appropriateness Use a style guide to ensure consistency across all materials Demonstrate proficiency with computers: organize file folders, search the Internet, use common software programs (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, photo editing programs) Use basic HTML for simple text formatting Respond to customer feedback while being polite and professional Consistently meet deadlines as assigned by the manager
Bachelor's degree or higher in mathematics, or a mathematics-related field Experience in teaching or standards-based education a plus Impeccable writing skills Attention to detail Excellent computer and Internet skills Effective time-management skills Positive, high energy attitude Flexibility and willingness to learn new skills General Characteristics Absolute personal integrity and credibility.
