The Junior Creative Editor will provide editing services for the G4 Brand and Creative group.
Thoroughly understand the G4 brand, and be a leader in bringing the network’s voice to life across all creative expressions.
Be a brand leader, telling unique stories with a voice that’s wholly G4.
Edit material to Producer’s/Creative Editor’s specifications, but be capable of focused independent work.
Use clear, exceptional editing techniques to bring a strong sense of story and style to projects.
Incorporate inspired, conceptual editing techniques to create groundbreaking work.
Make creative suggestions (incorporating writing and graphics) to enhance final product.
Work on projects of all scopes and sizes: launch campaigns, topical promos, interstitials, sponsored vignettes, digital initiatives, branding elements, and network sales presentations.
Collaborate with writers, producers, creative editors, graphic designers, and audio mixers to create cohesive creative.
Communicate clearly with assistant editors, production assistants and VO artists.
Communicate clearly with other departments and outside production entities.
Move from rough cut to final cut without excessive revisions.
Frequently participate in creative brainstorming sessions to generate highly creative, unexpected and breakout ideas.
Insure program meets Network broadcast technical specifications.
Create and maintain EDLs, projects, or other documentation as needed.
Report problems that affect workflow to supervisor and production manager.
Help troubleshoot technical issues.
Follow and keep current on technical and departmental procedures.
May be required to work nights and weekends.
Additional duties as assigned.
Proficiency as an AVID Editor; minimum of 3 years experience required.
Specific experience editing on-air promotions, sales tapes, long form entertainment, film and/or television.
Must be able to work nights and weekends as required.

Must be covered by Solutions, NBCU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Program.
Must have exceptional editing skills, and be able to produce quality products in a short amount of time.
Ability to execute and render effects, and finish in high resolution.
Ability to fully operate HD DVD decks, Digital Beta and BetacamSP VCRS, DATs, and waveform monitors/vectorscopes.
Knowledge of system patching and routing.
Ability to work in ProTools a plus.
Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, and take creative direction.
Detail-oriented. Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
Should have a clear understanding of our target audience (18-49 Males), and be able to edit effective promos for this demographic.
Preferred experience in editing different types of programming, including (but not limited to) scripted, comedy, drama, movies, and all formats of reality television.
