Junior Maintenance Technician- Milwaukee, WI (2nd Shift)
The individual handles less complex facility and equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance tasks. Individual works closely with more experienced team members to learn maintenance trade skills. Candidate should be a self starter who can work in a self directed environment, as well as being a team player. Some individual, independent work is expected.
The individual must exhibit a strong desire to learn new skills to advance along in a maintenance career. The individual is expected to continue ongoing training internally and external to Brady.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Understanding of Industrial electricity.
Emphasis on understanding and developing interest in PLC’s, Drives and Controls.
Understanding of mechanical components and systems.
Ability to work safely and effectively in a maintenance shop and on manufacturing equipment as well as in classified environments.
Must be able to follow directions, verbally and written including reading and understanding manuals.
Good listener and team player.
Computer knowledge and understanding of basic computer programs.
Must maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Must be able to use basic non-powered and powered hand tools safely and effectively.
Supply own tools, including a standard mechanical toolbox and basic electrical tools and meters.
Flexability to work multiple shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd).
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- High School Diploma and 2 years technical school education, or working towards a degree in a two year program in industrial maintenance or electrical and electronic controls, with an emphasis on controls and programming.
- Course work and understanding of mechanical power systems, pneumatics and fluid systems.
- Ability to problem solve.
