Equilar is looking for a Knowledge Engineer to help drive the development and assist in the design of Big Data and Information Processing systems. These systems involve information extraction, machine learning and natural language processing (NLP). You will be critical in turning our ambitious product roadmap into a reality by acting as a key technical resource in NLP, information extraction, data mining, and machine learning. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Efficiently employ optimal techniques and frameworks in NLP, information extraction, data mining, and machine learning
Where existing techniques are inadequate you will be expected to develop, or assist in the development of, novel techniques to solve challenging problems in NLP, information extraction, data mining and machine learning
Assist in research and design of next-stage Big Data systems
Be an “expert” resource on a number of the many next-stage technologies being used by the team
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Success in this role will depend greatly on:
Strong knowledge of, and experience in, Java development in a server-side environment
Knowledge of NLP, machine learning, and data mining required
Knowledge and/or a passionate interest in the techniques required for the position
Experience with, or at a minimum a strong interest in, modern information extraction and categorization
Strong desire to learn and grow
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
BS or MS in Computer Science and/or Information Science required
Minimum of three years of experience in Java and/or Python development
Minimum of two years of experience in information processing tools
