In accordance with client, resumes are requested to provide the following Information Technology consulting services for the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority. The period of performance shall be one (1) year from the date of award, unless sooner terminated. The requirements are set forth as follows:
The position will require a strong understanding and experience of networking, specifically QoS and multicasting. The engineer will be responsible for design, implementation and support of the Authoritys LAN, WAN/MAN and Optical network infrastructure and will also consult, coordinate and work with others in the design and implementation of systems that will be hosted on the network. Primary responsibilities will revolve around the design, implementation and support of an optical and multicast network environment and the maintenance and administration of network infrastructure standards and documentation.
Specialized Knowledge and Experience Required:
EIGRP and BGP redistribution/ integration, traffic shaping, policy routing, priority queuing, map classing and HSRP
Multicasting with IP PIM Sparse/Dense Modes, IGMP and RP/Auto-RP
VoIP and Data QoS/ToS, Traffic Policing, and Priority Queuing.
Configuring Cisco IOS, Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches and routers.
Configuring Cisco PIX/ASA firewall appliances (multicast support)
Ability to capture and analyze sniffer traces to determine and correct performance problems and issues.
5 Years experience
Specialized Knowledge and Experience Preferred:
DWDM Optical Networking (Nortel/Cisco)
Customer service oriented
Strong Communication skills (written & verbal)
Well organized and detail oriented
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing; service oriented and ability to work easily with users and IT management.
Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and in making decisions.
Must be a self-starter and work with little or no supervision
