Essential Job Functions:
Direct resident care as it pertains to treatment and medications.
Supervise Certified Nursing Assistants and enforce nursing policy and procedures per Employee Handbook. Discipline and provide corrective action as necessary.
Ensure adequate staffing and handle call-ins for absence.
Assess residents for the collection of information and document. Notify proper individuals as appropriate.
Assist as needed in resident bedside care.
Perform all nursing aspects of resident admissions and discharges.
Make physician calls, assist with MD visits and transcribe orders.
Receive and process physician orders.
Administer CNA performance evaluations.
Assist in orientation of new staff.
Update Nursing and CNA care plans and CNA daily work sheet.
Perform daily Quality Assurance compliance rounds.
Complete incident investigation reports.
Complete appropriate documentation, including weekly summaries, by following documentation guidelines per nursing policy and procedures.
Administer prescribed medications.
Observe residents, charting and reporting changes in residents conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary action.
Provide basic resident care and treatments, such as taking temperatures or blood pressures, dressing wounds, treating bedsores, giving enemas or douches, or performing catheterizations.
Work as part of a health care team to assess resident needs, plan and modify care and implement interventions.
Collect samples such as urine and sputum from residents.
Serve on the appropriate committees required by the State and Federal Codes.
Attend required continuing education in-services per nursing regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current/valid State of Wisconsin license.
One or more years LPN or RN experience.
