A Lab Assistant position is available to assist with biochemical analysis and small animal handling. Main duties will be assisting with laboratory and experiment preparation, but once trained the ideal candidate may have the opportunity to work on small independent research projects.
Will also, under specific direction, will perform routine repetitive laboratory tasks, which may include the preparation of laboratory supplies and/or equipment and other related duties and tasks as required or assigned.
Requires a high school diploma or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been attained. Undergraduate enrolled in a relevant scientific program, e.g., biological or life science, strongly preferred.
Must be organized and perform accurate work. Previous laboratory maintenance experience required as is previous demonstrated experience with small animal handling.
This is a part-time position, up to 20 hours per week, with hours to be arranged. This position is not eligible for benefits.
UCSD undergraduates with Work-Study funds are preferred.
