In this role you will be responsible for:|
Performs standard laboratory procedures requiring a broad use of independent judgement and responsibility with minimal technical supervision
Clerical functions associated with the processing of specimens (identifying, labeling, and delivering to designated areas with the department)
May be required to perform venipuncture and blood collection procedures for patients and inpatients
Performs basis computer systems functions, such as running reports, retrieving results, entering results and communicating specimen requirements to outside customers
Prepares and performs all functions related to the proper handling of specimens which are sent to reference laboratories for testing
If you possess the following qualifications, please apply immediately:
Generalist experience in a hospital environment preferred
BS MT or AS MLT ASCP eligibility required
Certificate from an accredited school preferred
Microbiology experience preferred
Physical Requirements: Frequent standing, sitting, and walking; occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, dexterity required for troubleshooting and maintenance.
Light to moderate lifting of supplies. Occasional exposure to extreme heat and moderate noise. Potential exposure to infectious substances and needle punctures.
Visual Requirements: near vision, color vision, and extensive exposure to video display terminals.
Hearing Requirements: ability to hear normal conversation and telephone communication.
Working Conditions: laboratory setting, instrumentation (with background noise), and exposure to infectious diseases.
Must be capable of reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
