This position provides independent support to the Principal Investigator (PI) with minimal supervision to accomplish the scientific research goals of the laboratory; to include planning, actual experimentation and analysis of data, and maintenance of the laboratory. Duties include coordinating multiple, concurrent assignments within a given project or among multiple projects, being extremely proficient and careful in the methods/tasks required for performance of our experiments, and being able to quickly master new experimental methods. This position will be required to supervise activities of students and technicians in the lab, work closely with the PI, and generate high titer HIV -1 based vectors for the lab and other laboratories. Testing the therapeutic efficacy of novel HIV -1 based vectors in vivo and evaluating novel approaches to treat HIV -1 in vitro and in vivo are the premise and main purpose of this position.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Candidate must have working knowledge in laboratory setting, ability to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Experience in molecular biology and cell culture is preferred.
Special Physical and Mental Requirements
Ability to perform complex tasks while remaining focused.
