Responsibilities

A Clinical Research Division laboratory that studies hematopoietic stem cell biology and is developing novel genetic modification strategies for stem cell gene therapies is recruiting a Lab Technician II / Research Technician I to assist with primary hematopoietic cell culture, tissue-associated hematopoietic cell phenotyping, and flow cytometry experiments.

The position may involve additional responsibilities, such as culture and analysis of cells infected with HIV and related viruses. This position affords the motivated technician an opportunity to develop/utilize both tissue culture and virological skills.

Qualifications

This position requires a bachelor’s degree in a biological science or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Laboratory experience with cell cultures and molecular biological techniques is required. Experience with hematopoietic cell cultures and virological techniques is desired. To be successful in this position, the technician must be highly motivated, have a high level of initiative, work carefully, and keep detailed records. S/he must also be capable of working independently in a teamwork environment and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Self-motivated candidates with excellent organizational skills, and written and oral communication skills and those who work well in a multidisciplinary team environment are encouraged to apply.
