Required: junior-level student with some background in basic science. Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Highly responsible and willing to continually take on new responsibilities. Good oral and written communication skills. Strong grammar, punctuation, proofing and spelling skills. Attentive to detail. Ability to quickly learn new tasks and follow complex instructions. Demonstrate organization and task management skills. Ability to work over breaks including winter, spring and summer with increased hours.
Preferred: previous work in a laboratory setting. Familiar with the PubMed search engine through the BioMedical Library.
Perform ELISAs, colorimetric assays, fatty acid analysis, sample dilutions, and other tasks as needed.
Maintain freezer inventory and maintenance, equipment and supply maintenance.
Support data and project management (organizing files and file drawers, photocopying, record keeping, meeting summaries, notes)
Search for research articles and printing/organizing articles

20% Laboratory related work: review and summarize inventories, supply ordering, data back-up, data management and maintenance
10% Other tasks as needed
