Summary Comprehensive technical knowledge building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying developmental and electrical components, parts, equipment, and systems by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Serves as a technical leader on many advanced installations. Other duties may be assigned.

Discusses layout and assembly procedures and problems with lead engineering technician and draws routine sketches to clairfy design and functional criteria of electronic units.

Oversees the assembly of experimental circuitry (breadboard) or complete prototype model.

Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.

Oversees and may set up standard test apparatus or devises test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production model.

Analyzes and interprets test data.

Oversees and may adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry components and records effecs on unit performance.

May write technical reports and develop sharts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations.

Checks functioning of newly installed equipment to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.

Supervisory Responsibilities Under limited supervision, may participate in the supervision one or more entry-level non-supervisory employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilites in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities may include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. May provide on the job training to entry level technicians and serve as lead technician on complex or routine installations.

Education and/or Experience HS or equivalent plus eight years of work related experience and/or training; or AS plus five years of related experience or BS in electronics plus two years of related work experience. Full understanding and familiarization of electricity and electronics required.

Mathematical Skills Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Computer Skills Working knowledge of MS Office applications.

Certificates, Licenses, Registraion Must have and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance and posses a valid driver's license.

Other Qualifications Must be able to travel as required.
