SALARY : Starting pay will not be less than $11.284 per hour ($23,560, annualized) , plus excellent benefits .This position is in pay schedule and range 03-08. A six-month probationary period is required.

JOB DUTIES : This position provides labor assistance for the Division of Intercollegiate Athletics Maintenance Department. Under the supervision of the Superintendent of Building and Grounds and under the direction of a Facilities Repair Worker, the incumbent will perform the following duties: Clean and ready Athletic Department buildings and grounds including Camp Randall Stadium, UW Fieldhouse, McClain Center and other assigned athletic venues for daily activities and events; Clean the Stadium seating bowl, UW Fieldhouse, McClain Center, Kohl Center, UW Softball Complex, Crew House, McClimon Track/Soccer Complex and other athletic facilities cleaning seating areas, concourses, hallways, stairwells, office areas, locker rooms, weight rooms, and training rooms; Prepare athletic facilities for events which include the set up and take down of fencing, goal posts, bleachers, chairs, baskets, nets, curtains, stages, sports equipment, flooring, etc.; Snow removal, as needed; Perform clean up and custodial work before, during and after events; Assist Facilities Repair Workers with performing daily minor maintenance such as: repairs and installation of fence pads, tarps, signs, benches, training tables, football sleds and workout equipment; and perform other duties as assigned .

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED : Candidates must be able to repeatedly push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, climb ladders, and must be able to retain and carry out multiple work assignments; be able to operate cleaning equipment such as industrial vacuum cleaners and carpet extractors, and electric floor buffers, and have the ability to use cleaning chemicals properly, and able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. This position will involve standing and walking for up to 8 hours.
