The Operational Specialist is responsible for managing the product development and production planning cycle to achieve on-time/complete shipments for assigned programs. Plays a significant role in the pre-production process, including model development, costing and sampling to help ensure customer product accuracy. Requires daily interaction with customers and suppliers resulting in positive client relationships by communicating the most accurate information impacting throughput.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Pre development and sealed sample process:
Issues all photo and sealed samples and fills out customer's Product Lifestyle Management (PLM), merchandising and time and action calendars weekly.
Manages changes to minimize any negative impacts on requested deliveries.
Maintains and disseminates catalog customer's Standard Operating Procedure requirements to the entire internal organization.
Product Lifestyle Management:
Builds and maintains positive relationships with both internal and external customers at multiple levels including; sourcing, design, quality control, production and merchandising.
Ensures that all customer PLM and production reporting requirements are achieved.
Keeps open-lines of communication between all involved parties.
Planning and sourcing requirements:
Accepts and negotiates capacity and merchandising calendar constraints to achieve requested delivery dates with factories and internal departments to ensure complete and on-time delivery (90% goal) to the customer.
Creates and manages finished goods purchase orders, fabric purchase orders, style validation, customer's style cross reference setups, web portal cross reference setups, A-B-C plan creation, scheduling and monitoring of cuts and interaction with factories to resolve problems or delays.
Reviews 12 week window weekly to report on and help resolve delays that prevent a cut from issuing on time.
Fills out all production requests back to catalog customer's confirming deliveries.
Customer service and reporting requirements:
Prepares customer weekly reports reflecting current status of all orders that are open on customer's books.
Picks orders by cut and purchase order as they complete for shipping.
Coordinates with OPIL, 3PL's and factories on direct from factory and cross dock cut/PO based shipping.
Answers phone inquiries
Reviews all customer compliance, product development and logistics websites to keep the business compliant.
Reviews and resolve charge-backs.
Education and Certifications
High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
Experience and Skills
Four+ years of relevant work experience. Knowledge of basic accounting.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks on a daily basis
Competency in math is a plus
Good communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with customers, account executives and other associates.
Acute attention to detail; ability to plan and organize projects.
Good problem solving skills.
