The Denver Water Legal Division provides nearly all of Denver Water's legal services. The Legal Division consists of 11 attorneys who are engaged in the areas of natural resources, public lands, water, contracts, real estate, business, employment, municipal law, and civil litigation.

Denver Water is recruiting for a Fall 2013 law clerk in our Legal Division. Law clerks must excel at research and writing, and they may be called upon to answer questions involving any of the above areas of law. Responses to attorneys may take the form of a memorandum, correspondence, a portion of a brief, response to discovery, or other documents. Law clerks also may attend meetings with clients, depositions, hearings, trials, and meetings of the Board of Water Commissioners.

The successful candidate must possess high-level research, writing, and analytical skills. At the minimum, students must be in their second year of law school in Fall 2013. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, have a strong desire and a passion to assist Denver Water to become the "best water utility in the nation".

A background check will be conducted to verify information submitted on application. All employment offers are contingent on the successful completion of a post-offer physical, which includes drug and alcohol testing and a Worker's Compensation Background check.
