As a Lead Electrician/ EET at Evergreen Plywood , you’ll have the opportunity to:

Support manufacturing by maximizing plant uptime and providing support for all facility systems in a safe manner, while contributing to corporate, plant, and departmental goals.

Lead and work with a team of electricians, as well as work with millwrights and other maintenance personnel to deliver preventative and routine maintenance on plant equipment, troubleshoot and repair complex electrical problems, create innovative solutions to complex issues, and work on capital projects.

Manage work orders, part inventory , tools, and schedules.

Lead maintenance tasks involving troubleshooting, repairing, upgrading, and installations of equipment and production electrical systems with minimal supervision or direction.

Manage projects involving large and small equipment, and large capital projects. Design layout and installation of basic electrical controls.

Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and ladder logic.

Additional Requirements:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. Associates degree in Electrical Technology/Maintenance preferred. Licensed Electrician a plus.

Experience:

Associates degree in Electrical Technology/Maintenance or minimum of five years of electrical experience required. PLC programming and troubleshooting experience required. Two plus years of managerial experience preferred. Three plus years of manufacturing electrical maintenance experience preferred. Visualization programming experience is a plus.

Specific Skills:

Exemplify and promote exceptional safety standards; including but not limited to performing independent safety audits and attending monthly safety meetings.

Manage a team of electricians; including mentoring and elevating performance of electricians, as well as follow up on assignment of tasks through to closure of tasks.

Support crew by holding crew meetings, ordering and following up on purchases, overseeing manning/vacations, and managing time records in Kronos.

Manage various projects, including coordinating work with various departments, supervisors and other parties as necessary.

Supervise and manage tools; electrical programs; part/tool inventory; and critical spare parts.

Manage work orders; modify equipment specifications; track, print/issue and update PM’s (preventative maintenance) through Tabware.

Coordinate training for Electricians, including travel arrangements as necessary. Keep records of all training.

Coordinate boiler shut downs and power outages for shutdowns, with the local power company (when applicable) and team of electricians, supervisor, production operators, etc.

Experience with control systems related to variable speed drives and industrial automation systems, PLC control (AB PLC5 and/or ControlLogix system experience preferred), conduit and wiring skills including termination, and experience with MCC's.

Knowledge of the National Electrical Code, NFPA70E and NFPA70B and ability to apply their requirements on a daily basis. Possess solid understanding of electrical safety (some NFPA70E and NEC experience preferred).

Knowledge and proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, electrical schematics, ladder logic, and equipment manuals.

Ability to troubleshoot control systems containing photo eyes, proximity switches, and limit switches.

Experience working with equipment such as: hand tools; drills, saws; conduit equipment; amp probe, megohmmeter, oscilloscope, and other electrical test equipment; computer for control in manufacturing plant and mill.

Possess strong mechanical abilities to facilitate equipment repair and replacement of current machine components and the installation of electrical automation and components.

Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.

Apply computer systems knowledge, and the willingness to continually learn new applications.

Experience or ability to use a computerized maintenance management application/system.

Hold necessary skills as outlined below to maintain, repair and upgrade machines.

As sense of urgency in terms of maximizing production and minimizing down time is necessary in this type of manufacturing environment.

Tasks performed involve work with equipment and materials that require familiarity with formal safety procedures and ability to follow these procedures in order to maintain the safety of the work environment.

Possess above average computer skills and computer systems knowledge, and the willingness to continually learn new applications.

Experience or ability to use a computerized maintenance management application/system.

Ability to lead others and work closely with supervisors and other departments; willingness to learn new things; be a team player/leader; good communications skills and demonstrate a positive attitude.

Self-starter with the ability and willingness to complete leadership programs, as necessary.

Willingness to work any shift, work overtime and weekends.

Ability to use computerized Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).

Ability to provide own set of small hand tools.

Additional Requirements: The job of Electrician is a Very Heavy Duty job. Very Heavy Duty involves exertion of more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or more than 50 pounds frequently, and/or more than 20 pounds continuously to move objects.

Essential duties include but are not limited to stooping, climbing and crawling in and over machines for repair purposes and the ability to lift 50 to 100 lbs.

Must be comfortable working above the ground at times, and outside as necessary.

Ability to interpret and apply verbal and/or written instructions.
