SUMMARY: Systems design, construction, and maintenance for medical management company. Function individually and as part of a team to build, upgrade, and troubleshoot web and desktop based systems. Integrate and enhance custom built and vendor supplied systems in a transaction based processing environment. Manage multiple assignments in a complex environment under time and cost constraints.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Participate in every aspect of software development including documentation, testing, and deployment; including translating functional specifications into technical design and efficient code.
2. Mentoring of junior and mid level engineers.
3. Participate in design meetings, code and peer review sessions.
4. Follow industry, company, and department standard practices for software engineering.
5. Estimate task durations and log project hours.
6. Provide feedback on project status, milestones, and risks.
7. Ensure systems security and protect against unlawful data disclosure.
8. Upgrade and maintain department systems and software.
9. Analyze system design and performance.
10. Provide technical direction.
11. Interact with operations for planning and support.
12. Follow healthcare and software industry trends.
13. Recommend areas for improvement in both processes and systems.
14. Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, project managers, and stakeholders.
15. Participate in larger IT efforts to support organization through continuous improvement.
16. Regular and consistent attendance.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Technical lead. Degree in Computer Science or equivalent. Minimum 10 years experience programming of multi-tier applications against Microsoft technologies: C#, .Net, XML and client-side scripting. WCF (Windows Communication Foundation) and SOA (services oriented architecture. 10+ years' experience working with MS SQL Server - queries, stored procedures, and views. Object oriented and component based design experience. Participate in every aspect of software development including documentation, testing, and deployment. At least 3+ years experience as a technical or principle lead. Object oriented and component based SDLC experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Excellent communication skills and a commitment to customer service.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: Microsoft certification preferred.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Experience in healthcare applications preferred. Database design and performance tuning. Report writing experience with SQL Reporting Services. Background in advanced server and client based web technologies such as web services, SharePoint, AJAX, BizTalk and CRM. Familiarity with the software development lifecycle tools such as source control (TFS), Raven, Project, and Visio.
