The Lead Accountant will be responsible for executing key finance and accounting activities in a high volume and complex environment as well as driving operational engagement to timely and accurately resolve issues and improve controllership.
Completion of complex account reconciliations – banking, intercompany, receivables, tax liabilities/receivables, etc.
Management of open items with operational counterparts to ensure timely and accurate clearing and avoidance of aging and unreconciled accounts.
Prepare balance sheet analysis and cash forecasting activities.
Perform month end/quarter close accounting activities.
Participate in team efforts to close the books and report the results during period closes.
Interact with various customers to clarify accounting requirements, support customer reporting needs and help acclimate new customers to Pay & Benefits financial processes.
Support intercompany billing activities including customer inquiries, Due To/Due From variances, billing table updates, operational metrics and escalations.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors to drive closure of open audit issues and proactively work to prevent future issues.
Develop accounting solutions to transactional process issues in coordination with operations, accounting leadership and business controllers.
Drive completion of special projects to enhance controllership, compliance, and to ensure best in class (accurate, timely, repeatable, and sustainable) financial processes.

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
5+ years of experience in accounting
Strong PC skills - proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
MUST be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
