The IT Analyst will be part of the IT Technology team supporting software deployment and operational activities related to implementation of Plant Design & Simulation tools for the Nuclear Engineering Function.
In addition, you will:
Configure and maintain 2D Plant Design and 3D modeling software for development of Nuclear Power Plants
Troubleshoot application issues and provide support for engineers utilizing plant modeling and simulation software
Perform root cause and trending analysis for application issues applying systematic problem solving techniques
Maintain and upgrade previously developed software written in visual basic, C, and C++
Evaluate and recommend software development and test tools
Develop and verify software design specifications and test procedures
Participate and perform configuration & code reviews to verify code meets functional requirements and coding standards
Develop communication protocol specification for interfaces with internal and external systems
Establish and maintain productive working relationships with other project team members and project management in order to execute projects on schedule and within budget
Provide customer training and expert technical consultation as needed, including support for User Acceptance Testing, on-site training, system installation and startup support
Perform continuous evaluation of business and customer needs vs. implementation approach / scope to ensure appropriate prioritization of supporting resources
Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Management or related technical field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in architecture, design and development of visual basic applications
Minimum of 2 years of experience with Java, Visual Basic, XML, .NET, and other modern languages and web technologies
Minimum of 1 year of development experience with Plant Design, PLM or engineering CAD systems
Ability and willingness to travel, as required

Minimum of 2 year of hands-on experience with SmartPlant Enterprise
Experience with any or all of the following technologies: SmartPlant; Enovia, Engineering CAD/Simulators, Documentum, Virtualization, AspenOne, Network Communication technology
Minimum of 2 year of development experience with Unix and Visual Basic programming
Comprehensive knowledge of physical and logical data modeling, performance tuning
Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills
Six Sigma Green Belt Certification (GE employees only)
Demonstrated interest in the new IT technologies
Knowledge of data governance principles
Experience working with global project teams in high-paced environment
Database administration and/or Java development experience
