As an IT professional you have expert knowledge in one or more programming languages or databases. Because of your excellent understanding of the entire project life cycle, you have the ability to direct project teams in the gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs. You get to work closely with and learn from the brightest minds to ensure proper system design. Your role ensures highest quality implementations from design through quality insurance to production. You anticipate hardware and software design needs to take pre-emptive action. Our IT professionals support multiple team members and other project leads in day-to-day activities related to project work.

The Home Depot is looking for a motivated individual who wants to be part of one of the largest, most aggressive supply chain transformation teams, a team that is responsible for ensuring The Home Depot is the Supply Chain leader in the Retail Space.

The Lead Business Analyst will be responsible for driving projects related to the Logistics application systems. This individual will need to interact with business partners to understand their operations as well as how to solve enhancement requests via changes to our existing logistic system landscape. This includes identifying requirements, determining various IT solutions that can deliver on those requirements and then working with application and other IT teams to design, develop, test and implement that solution. An associate in this position will be responsible for working with vendor software and managing vendor relationships. The individual will also be responsible for working with the application support team to train and prepare support team in changes and enhancements made to the logistics systems so they can be supported long term. This is a high demand, high availability environment that requires the ability to handle a significant workload and maintain a high energy level. The individual will need to possess ability to not only think on their feet and react quickly, but become proactive to the needs of our business partners.

The Lead Business Analyst has an expert understanding of the entire project life cycle. The right candidate possesses the ability to guide and direct project teams in the requirements gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs. Must present ideas to review boards. The Lead Business Analyst must work closely with architects to ensure proper system design. Ensures highest quality implementations from design through QA to production. Assists multiple team members and other project leads in the day-to-day activities related to project work. Must be able to anticipate hardware and software design needs. The Lead Business Analyst must have the ability to view packages and products to determine their viability within the solution being considered, or if they would be a good solution in other areas. Good inter-personal and communication skills are key assets to the successful individual in this role.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
Develop detail Business or Systems requirements for approved complex projects and enhancements to existing large-scale projects. Conduct interviews and requirements gathering workshops. Ensure sign-off of all artifacts.

Develop requirements trace-ability matrix, which is charted and documented through each phase of the project life-cycle. Develop System Requirement Specification (SRS) or Systems External Specifications.

Interface with Business Stakeholders and IT Infrastructure teams.

Assist with identifying and estimating the cost of projects that are submitted through the strategic planning process.

May provide expert guidance and direction to Business Analyst.

NATURE AND SCOPE -
Typically reports toManager - Service Management

No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the technical leadership of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.

EDUCATION REQUIRED -
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE -
7+

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -
The ideal candidate will possess a good working knowledge of the supply chain industry and typical IT solutions used in that industry like Warehouse Management Systems, Transportation Management Systems and Data Integration.

The candidate will possess the ability to problem solve, have strong process orientation and a willingness to learn the business and operational flows.

Excellent communication skills are critical to the success of this position and the ability to interact with a wide audience at all levels, including off-shore team members.

Strong teamwork is required while also possessing the ability to work independently and demonstrate initiative.

Ability to guide and direct project teams in the requirements gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs.

Must present ideas to review boards.

Ability to work closely with architects to ensure proper system design.

Assists multiple team members and other project leads in the day-to-day activities related to project work.

An understanding of basic network concepts is beneficial as well as a solid base in programming concepts and languages (Informix, VB, Java, C#, etc).

Must be able to anticipate hardware and software design needs.

Solid understanding of databases and SQL.

7-10 years of related experience.

Previous experience in technical project leadership role.

Retail/business experience a plus.
