As an IT professional you have expert knowledge in one or more programming languages or databases. Because of your excellent understanding of the entire project life cycle, you have the ability to direct project teams in the gathering, design, and development of complex applications/programs. You anticipate hardware and software design needs to take pre-emptive action. The Lead Business Analyst should be able to interact with the Supply Chain business users to understand and interpret their needs. They must have the ability to present the requirements and functional design at all levels. They must also understand and promote the strategic view of applications and how they fit into the overall Supply Chain space. They should be able to proactively drive the deliverables; to think, work and contribute beyond defined responsibilities; and to grow and assume additional responsibilities. They should be well-organized with the capacity to multitask and able to work in a fast paced environment independently and as part of a team. The Lead Business Analyst role is responsible for the development and management of scope for a project.
The Lead Business Analyst is responsible for preparing one or more of the deliverables required to build Business Requirement Documents for mid-sized projects which include; Process flow, use cases, and coordination and accountability for solution review board artifacts.
During the requirements phase of the project, the Analyst will coordinate and meet with IT and the business owners to ensure that business requirements are translated into succinct clear requirements with defined ranges.
The Lead Business Analyst must have and be able to promote an appropriate sense of urgency in regard to deliverables and projects, and be able to effectively partner with / lead the business to develop and deliver IT solutions.

The Lead Business Analyst is responsible for the creation and quality of all the artifacts/deliverables and post project support. The Lead Business Analyst is responsible for conducting interviews and requirement workshops to ensure that business detailed requirements are captured and documented. The Lead Business Analyst may be responsible for the translation of the Business Requirements into succinct clear Systems Requirements with defined ranges to be used by Development. A thorough understanding of multiple functional areas related to complex projects and the ability to identify and quantify business process improvements along with system improvements through the use of technology is critical. The Lead Business Analyst works closely with the Project Manager, and therefore, this position requires an in-depth knowledge of project management and the lifecycle of a large-scale project.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -
Develop detail Business or Systems requirements for approved complex projects and enhancements to existing large-scale projects. Conduct interviews and requirements gathering workshops. Ensure sign-off of all artifacts.
Develop requirements trace-ability matrix, which is charted and documented through each phase of the project life-cycle. Develop System Requirement Specification (SRS) or Systems External Specifications.
Interface with Business Stakeholders and IT Infrastructure teams.
Assist with identifying and estimating the cost of projects that are submitted through the strategic planning process.
May provide expert guidance and direction to Business Analyst.

No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the technical leadership of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS -
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must pass the Drug Test.
Must successfully complete any required training or orientation courses.
EDUCATION REQUIRED -
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
YEARS OF RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE - 5
PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -
7+ years of related experience
5+ Years of Information Technology experience. Consulting experience is a plus. Retail Experience is a plus
2+ years experience with developing applications, reports and dashboards using any major tool is desired
2+ years experience working with data warehouses is required. Strong SQL skills are required
Supply Chain experience is a plus
Excellent written, verbal, and documentation skills required. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with the ability to appropriately prioritize tasks as needed
Must be comfortable working with business users at all levels. Ability to communicate to a wide variety of audiences, both business and technical. Ability to understand existing business processes and assist with efforts to re-engineer processes
Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and practices
