Job Profile and Purpose

A unique opportunity to gain exposure to multiple markets

The Lead Decision Science Analyst position provides project specific leadership in building quantitative and modeling solutions that integrate effectively into existing systems and processes, while delivering strong and consistent performance.

Working with Decision Science Managers, the Lead Decision Science Analyst role provides expertise in project design, model development, validation, monitoring, tracking, implementation and/or specification.

The role requires collaboration with various risk functions within Barclaycard to ensure business stakeholders' requirements are incorporated into the design of the model and to ensure appropriate use of models.

Key Accountabilities:
Develop predictive models, statistical analyses, optimization procedures, data quality analyses and score implementation documents (40%)

Participate in overall project design and delivery with Decision Science's other functional teams and end-clients (10%)

Validate, track, and monitor delivered projects (20%)

Work with team members to ensure projects are completed within agreed time frames and end-client satisfaction, through effective project management. Contribute to the broader Decision Science department through participation in peer reviews, terms of reference reviews, modeling forums and ad hoc project collaboration (15%)

Provide consultation on models used within Barclaycard risk strategies. Manage stakeholders across different business units and present work to senior management (5%)

Produce robust documentation to ensure replicability of results and fulfill Barclays governance requirements (10%)

Qualifications

University degree in quantitative discipline required (e.g. Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering). Graduate studies, Masters or PhD preferred.

3+ years of experience in predictive/statistical/risk/SAS modeling or risk scoring within a financial services company strongly preferred

Proficiency with analytical software (e.g., SAS), SQL tools (e.g., Oracle), Unix platforms and MS Office required

Strong analytical, data mining and statistical skills with proven ability to process large datasets into meaningful information

Strong project management, presentation & communication skills & ability to work independently

Ability to present findings in a clear manner and to senior management

Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast paced environment to develop world-class quantitative solutions, to aid in risk management

For Collections modeling roles:
Develop and manage new and existing Collections strategies in order to optimize profitability, utilizing scoring and segmentation techniques, including the usage of Champion/Challenger or Test/Control design

Experience in Decision Systems (e.g. TRIAD) and Collections systems (e.g. Debt Manager) preferred

Experience in forecast and quantitative analysis and/or financial modeling preferred
