The Lead Engineer / Technologist will develop practical and innovative ways to achieve organizational and Business goals. In this role you will utilize your industry experience or domain expertise to solve technical problems, lead lightly-scoped projects to completion, mentor early-career engineers, and strengthen the capability of the team.
In addition you will:
Lead fuel systems design and development activities on new LNG locomotive application
Design and execute Verification and Validation test plans on schedule and within budget
Work closely with the base engine, engine control, and engine performance teams to maximize fuel system potential
Collaborate with the locomotive sub-systems and program teams for delivering well-integrated products
Develop design, manufacturing, and service specifications for fuel systems
Provide expert technical support to GE Transportation locomotive customers
Be a champion for Root Cause Analyses
Work closely with the Principle Engineering office to ensure technical depth and rigor
Seek and develop innovative technologies that enhance the team’s capability and bring along competitive advantages
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 3 years of Engineering experience leading technical projects
Minimum 3 years of experience with diesel and/or natural gas fuel delivery systems or component development
Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Experience with engine performance and calibration methods
Knowledge of diesel engine control technologies
Proficiency in the use of engine test lab equipment, data acquisition systems, and data analysis tools
Understanding of engine modeling methods
Knowledge of diesel and alternative fuels and lube oil specifications for diesel engines
Proficient with Microsoft Suite software
Six Sigma Certification (GE Employees Only)
Strong oral and written communication and self-management skills
Demonstrated capability to lead major projects
Strong technical aptitude
