The NPE Engineering SmartPlant Foundation Super User will coordinate with New Plants Engineering Managers / Leads to define scope, strategy and architecture for the integrated engineering design database (SmartPlant Foundation). You will be responsible for supporting the successful configuration and deployment of the Engineering Design Platform (EDP). The EDP is an integrated suite of engineering tools the core of which is SmartPlant Enterprise.
Coordinate with Engineering Managers / Leads to define EDP scope, deliverables, and resource loaded schedules for design tool configuration.(Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, and Controls)
Become a Subject Matter Expert for the New Plants Engineering integrated design database (SmartPlant Foundation) including understanding and meeting customer requirements for New Plant design hand over
Work as a business partner with each GEH function (IT, Project Management, Finance) to evaluate / improve business processes
Ensure conformance to system architecture, standards, and practices
Guide Engineering in configuration efforts of all tools
Coordinate and lead project meetings
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting the assigned project
Document technical data generated by the assigned project consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science
Minimum of 3 additional years of experience in an engineering position
Minimum 1 year of experience leading high functional teams in a cross discipline, high energy, time constrained environment
Minimum 1 year of experience of Requirements Management System (DOORS)
Minimum 1 year of experience with visual basic and a wide breath of engineering design tools
Minimum 1 year of experience in highly regulated industry
Minimum 1 year of experience with the Intergraph SmartPlant tool suite
Minimum 1 year of experience with the purchasing and deployment of new software tools
Minimum 1 year of experience in the deployment of large software platforms

Master of Science Engineering Degree or higher
Proven ability to think strategically, be creative and move quickly
Demonstrated ability to lead a small team with multiple demands and priorities
Demonstrated project management skills, including cost and schedule control
Strong team building skills
Process oriented with ability to facilitate continuous performance improvement
Open communication style and proven ability to develop team relationships
Established credibility with peers and managers based on experience
Knowledge of nuclear business products, business processes, customers and competitive environment
Six Sigma Green Belt certification (GE Employees only)
Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
