The Lead Finance Project Manager – HFM/FDM will be an integral part of the leadership team involved with the planning, design and implementation of the Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and Financial Data Quality Management (FDM) tools which will be used for the collection, translation, consolidation, elimination, and reporting of financial data from the legacy Energy businesses to GE Corporate.
The leader will need to draw from experience or training in the areas of GE financial reporting, financial consolidations, and developing and maintaining HFM/FDM. The role will integrate closely with other team members that are implementing other Oracle/Hyperion tools (e.g. DRM, Essbase, and Planning) as part of the Financial Transformation Project. This is a newly created role and this individual will be paving new ground in our long term Hyperion strategy and our move toward Enterprise Standard compliant systems.
Also the lead Finance Project Manager – HFM/FDM demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. Integrates and develops processes that meet business needs across the organization. Involved in long-term planning. This role contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues within functional areas of expertise. Knowledgeable of systems and process to be able to provide assistance and respond to questions of others in broad organization. In addition, in this role you will:
Serves as solution delivery expert for the design and implementation of assigned finance areas
Drives and is accountable for operational excellence of assigned program(s), with duties including project reviews, feasibility, cost benefit analysis, prioritization, initiation, execution and closure for all project work related to the program
Manages budgets and contracts associated with program(s) or initiative(s)
Manages activities of project team resources to support and deliver solutions relating to the program(s)
Maintains effective working relationships with peers and vendors to seamlessly integrate the program area into the overall strategic objectives and activities of the organization
Coordinates program support activities, including the development of internal and external communications, establishing roadmaps and benchmarks, and developing training plans
Lead the analysis, requirement development, design, documentation, implementation and maintenance of small to medium finance solutions for business processes
Support, advise, assist, guide and resolve problems for client leaders and users
Work as a business partner with client leaders and users to evaluate/improve business processes and arrive at mutual, cost effective solutions
Ensure conformance to finance standards and practices
Prepare and present project plans, status reports, cost/benefit studies and recommend funding and resources
Act as a change agent for business processes
Coordinate outsourced supplier efforts as required
Serve as a knowledge resource to the accounting user field to assist with questions on system functionality and processing complex transactions
Bridge knowledge gap between various financial systems and applications
Possess basic level of systems knowledge to be able to interact / converse with IT personnel
Possess general accounting knowledge required to design a new HFM closing process
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college
Minimum of 5 additional years of experience with financial and systems operations and their implementation into the business function

Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS, or business
MBA & CPA is preferred

Experience with computerized accounting systems and OLAP reporting tools, accounting principles and financial reports, systems analysis and design methodologies
Experience with Hyperion reporting tools
Experience in the Hyperion Financial Management and Financial Data Quality Management applications, working knowledge of DRM and Oracle G/L components
