Lead Quality Engineer(ISO and Warranty Management)- Milwaukee, WI
This senior Individual Contributor position will manage and run the Brady NA Quality business (ISO9001 – 4 sites) & Environmental (ISO14001 – 2 sites) Systems within the Americas Region as well as lead, manage and coordinate the Global Printer Systems Warranty process and teams.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
ISO9001 and ISO14001 Systems Leadership:
Manages business ISO9001 and ISO14001 systems and manages relationship with external ISO auditor companies and auditors,
Schedules and maintains external and internal audit schedules for all registered Americas sites,
Stewards and maintains the Brady NA Quality Manual and major Policy documents,
Works with Site and Business Management to report and maintain records of audit non-conformances resulting from Internal and External audits. Works with Site and Regional team members and leaders to drive closure of the audit nonconformances according to business and auditor needs and timing,
Works with Quality Director to schedule needed Management Reviews for registered Site systems. Works with Site/Regional personnel to prepare all presentation materials, and
Global Printer Warranty Leadership:
Manages and improves overall Brady Printer Warranty failure data flows and analyzes monthly Warranty performance in aggregate and specific to each Printer model,
Schedules and chairs monthly Global Printer Systems Warranty meetings and drives appropriate Warranty improvements as needed for various Brady Printer models, and
Works with Americas Quality Director and Business Leaders to establish annual Warranty goals.
Currently none; but will work with, and provide guidance to, Quality Engineers and Site and Business Managers within Brady NA business. Coordinates across multiple sites and Global Regions for Warranty process.
S.M.A.R.T. Goals will be developed for this position.
10-15% of time, with more intense periods during external site audits
3-5 years experience implementing and managing Quality Systems in multi-site plants and business,
Strong attention to detail, and not afraid to work with large sets of data requiring Descriptive Statistics,
Strong written and verbal skills, with even stronger Organizational skills with a detail orientation,
Comfort and ability to interact with all levels at Brady – from Shop Floor team members to Senior Management. MUST present well,
Able to work independently with minimal direction and guidance, and still achieve results,
Familiarity and experience with Brady Printer products highly desirable,
Familiarity with ISO13485, GMP and/or AS9100 preferred,
2-3 years Six Sigma and Lean experience; teaching and mentoring experience helpful,
Experience with PPAP part qualification processes preferred.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
B.S. degree in Technical discipline is required -- preferably Engineering or Sciences
Masters degree preferred – MBA, Statistics, Quality and/or Mfg Management
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES
Lead Auditor training and certification required
ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) preferred
ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred
Basic algebra; Basic & Intermediate Statistics, knowledge of PC applications – Word, EXCEL, Access database, Visio
Ability to work with details; but also to step back and “see the big picture”. Process focused, can easily translate processes to graphical “swimlane” flowmaps for communication and better understanding.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standard situations. Ability to function and thrive in a competitive team-oriented environment. Critical to success in this position is the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, while maintaining focus on internal/external customer satisfaction.
